NEWS RELEASE:
Andrew Thomas for Attorney General Concession Statement & Update
PHOENIX, AZ. AUGUST 31, 2010. Following statements on Friday that he wanted to see every vote counted in his tight race with Tom Horne, Andrew Thomas today issued the following, congratulatory statement and concession. It was preceded by a phone call to the Republican nominee for Attorney General.
“It’s been an exciting race and even more exciting finish, but it’s clear that Tom Horne has won the Republican nomination. As I promised during the campaign, I hereby endorse him and wish him the best in the general election.
I’ve been honored to serve as Maricopa County Attorney and to see many positive changes in our community during that time. Crime rates fell, serial killers were locked up, and public safety was ensured in other ways. I never ducked a tough fight for a righteous cause, even when it cost me.
I wish to thank my wife Ann, who has stood by me through four difficult campaigns in the last eight years, and our four children. Their sacrifices have been great, and appreciated.
As I become “Citizen Thomas” once again, I’ll be forever grateful for the voters who stood by me through it all. It was almost enough.
May God bless this great state of ours.” --Former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas
